Paul Chadbourne

Paul Chadbourne attended Rhode Island College in Providence, RI where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Performance. While there Paul studied tuba with Tom Gregory who is an adjunct faculty member there, he also took lessons with Alan Baer of the New York Philharmonic, Greg Fritze formerly of the Rhode Island Philharmonic, Tony Clements of the Silicon Valley Symphony and Michael Milnarik, Boston area freelance artist. Upon graduating Paul began to branch out into other types of music including Trad. Dixie and New Orleans/ Second Line styles of music. Paul can be found performing in many different genres of music from classical to new orleans jazz. With this diverse palate of musical genres he can be seen performing regularly with the South Coast Brass Band and Buttonwood Brass Trio of New Bedford, as principal tuba with the Reading Symphony Orchestra along with other area orchestras and with Brass Venture brass Quintet. Paul performed with Matthew Hartnett and the Gumbo All-Stars at the 2018 New Bedford Jazzfest (where Matt was a headlining act), the Bar Harbor Music Festival and also made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2022 performing Verdi's Requiem with the Masterworks Chorus of Worcester. Outside of performing Paul is a craftsman for the world renown custom trumpet and trombone manufacter, S. E. Shires Co. of Holliston, Ma where he supervises the assembly department. Paul resides in South Grafton, MA with his wife Beth, their two cats, two rabbits, and two horses.
