Reece Ashley

Fall River, MA

Reece Ashley is an active multi-instrumentalist in the southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island area, performing various genres from classical to rock music. In 2022, he graduated from Rhode Island College where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance with a concentration in orchestral tuba.

On tuba, Reece is currently a member of the Washington Commanders Marching Band in Washington, DC for the 2022 NFL season. He also regularly performs with the Marion Town Concert Band under the direction of Tobias Monte. Reece has had the privilege to perform with the 2018 MMEA Massachusetts Senior All-State Orchestra, the 2019 New England College Band, the 2017 MMEA Southeastern District Wind Ensemble, the 2018 SEMSBA Senior Orchestra, and the 2018 UMass Lowell Symphonic Band Camp Wind Ensemble, acting as principal tubist for every ensemble.

On bass, Reece is a founding member of the punk rock group “Pomegranate Tea”, where he co-writes and performs original songs. They have released two EPs, both of which have had local success in the community of the genre. He also performs rock and pop covers with the band “Straight Eighths”. Outside of his bands, Reece has offered up his talents to a number of musical pit orchestras, jazz groups and other various freelancing opportunities. 

In 2021, Reece was the assistant music director of JDP Theatre Company’s production of the musical “Something Rotten!”, where he had the privilege to teach the cast as a vocal coach.
