Sydney Mecca
Sydney Mecca is a saxophonist originally from Barrington, Rhode Island. She spent her pre-college education studying saxophone privately with local saxophonist, John McKenna. Following in John's footsteps, Sydney is currently enrolled at William Paterson University in New Jersey, where she is pursuing a career in jazz studies and music education. During her time in university so far, Sydney has had the opportunity to work with many world-renowned musicians, such as but not limited to, Bill Charlap, Rich Perry, and Joe Lovano. Additionally, she has also had involvement with well-established organizations, such as Jazz House Kids, founded and directed by Melissa Walker and husband, Christian McBride. With close proximity and access to New York City, Sydney plans to continue to establish her career as a musician and further pursue her passion for jazz education.
